I know there are a million view on this issue.. I would like a fix so I don't have to screw with it anymore. Twin 454 mag MPI's in a 312 fastech One enigine runs 155 and can always be restarted if vapor locks, the other runs 165-170 and has to cool first. But runs great as long as I don't shut her down..
Can I run a cooler thermostat like a 140???with MPI's
I have the damn VST's Do I need to change that fuel pump inside to the high pressure one.. Has any one done something to fix this once and for all..
Oil change to synthetic? HEEELLLLPPPPPP Having a blast one min then pissed the next...

Fought the same problem, especially after idling through long slow no wakes with my 502 mpi. Take the return line off the vst tank, run it to the fuel tank. Put a plug in the vst tank where the return hose was. I bought the fill hose splice that had a 3/8's fitting in it. Put a barb fitting on it and ran that to the fuel rail return hose you just took off the vst tank. Your basicaly cycling cool fuel from the main gas tank through the fuel rails and fuel filter vs circulating from tank to fuel rail and around and around.
