corsa, 1 not opening completely?
#1
For several years I have noticed a lack of power and would flip the switch a couple of times and hear the exhaust fully open. Now it wont. Appears to be one side only. The solenoids
are working. Something inside must not be opening. If i can get it open I will leave it alone. Any ideas? Thanks JC

If I remember right there are 2 relays on the Corsa system. Sounds like 1 is bad. BUT, If both solenoids are working all the time, then the linkage must be out of adjustment. Take out the linkage pin and spin the part on the end of the solenoid shaft until the flapper is fully open. (adjust, then check, repeat until its right) You can check this by looking up the exhaust tip with a flashlight and a long screwdriver to open the flapper in the exhaust tip.

There is an adjustment with a nut. I tried it no help. I was out all day flipping the switch. I'll have to get it on the trailer to check from back. Does anyone know whats in there? It closes all the way to go thru the hub, jut doesnt open all the way. I hear a slight clicking on the port side. Anything I can do in the boat to get it open? Thanks I want to open it up!

The Corsa solenoids are different than the other brands. They have a 3rd pole for a "Hold coil" I think. Could be the solenoid is bad. I had a similar problem with the Corsa's I took off and switched to Lightnings and all is well. Much simpler, although the fit and finish of the Corsa parts was less crude. So basically, if you want to quit messing with this, replace the relay for that side. If it's not fixed, replace the solenoid. If your power supply has been verified as good that's pretty much all that could be wrong IMO.

I've had problems with mine opening to. Batteries are fully charged. Tried messin around with the adjusting nut. Replaced the solenoids. Still get one side or the other that won't stay open unless I reach back there and pull them open with my hand.
I raise the engine hatch before I start the boat anyways to smell for fuel. At this time I reach back and cycle the exhaust valves back and forth a few times. Perhaps corrosion builds up, I don't know but it seems to help and they open when I hit the switch.
You can't break anything by moving them manually. It's just an electro magnet that pulls against a spring return.
Hope this helps.
