the hydromotive has welded blades and is faster, also real size stamped.
The bravo I is cast and is usually 1-2 sizes in pitch smaller then stamped also thicker blades and heavyer ( slower ) !
Hope that helps.

A little correction DD.

Hydromotive propellers does NOT weld on blades. They are one piece castings.

Bravo I props are one inch less than stamped.

So a 28" Bravo 1 = a 27" Hydromotoive (model??). Julie we have been exchanging emails on my 27' Fountain with Raylar kit, wondering if a Hydro may be the way to go? I was thingking a labbed 28" Bravo would be what i beed but am unsure. Thanks Pete

I may be wrong, but I thought the clever style hydromotive props Q4 has more SLIP than brovo 1. At least at cruising speed.

I believe that he is asking about the Q4x which is a round eared prop, and very similar to the Bravo line of props.

I find the Q4x to be faster than the Bravo props, plus I like that they can be ordered in 1 inch increments. They slip a little more on the bottom end due to the shorter tail cone, and have about the same slip as a bravo in the middle and top end.

The P5x is a 5 bladed version of the Q4x. It works really well for those looking for more hook up than a 4 bladed prop can provide. They hook up like glue on the bottom end, and have great midrange cruise speeds and good top end.

I use a 30 P5x as my every day prop for cruising and/or pulling my kids on an innertube. On my boat, it has a little too much blade area for when I want to go really fast, and I switch over to a 31 pitch Q4x. The 4 blade seems to keep the stern setteled more and provide better handling over 90 mph on my single engined v-hull.

Yes.. a 27 Q4x spins aproximately the same rpm as a standard 28 Bravo prop. The Q4x is a little faster, but slips a little more off the bottom. Comparing them stock labbed to stock labbed, the Hydro prop is still faster.

You can order Hydro props lab finished, and then they spin about 100-150 rpm more than their stock counterparts. What this means is that if you ordered a 28 lab P4x, it would spin about the same rpm as a non-lab 27 P4x but have greater speed at just about every rpm.

As you can see, I like these props... they work well on my boat.

But every boat is different.
