Okay I am confused. I have had the engines out of my boat multiple times now and never faced this one. I rebuild my engines this winter and finished the re-installation of everything today and went to crank them over and both engines did the same thing. The starters made noise but did not engage or turn over either engine.
Here are things that I have checked.
1. I have checked and switched my grounds to make sure that I have good grounds.
2. Checked the flywheel to make sure that I did not put in on backward.
3.One brand new battery and one old just charged.
What else should I check? I can not believe that both starters have failed at the same time.
Thanks

could be a Voltage Issue (cable, gnd) ..if you dont get at least I believe its 9.6 Volts the Bendix wont engage ....you can check the voltage under load on the starter ...Common issue could be Ground .....m

I am running MT200 high torque (3HP) starters from DB electrical. I have 3 wires (the red battery lead from batter, red feed wire to engine circuit, and orange wire to the alternator) on the large post and the yellow start wire on the spade lead.
I can hear the solenoid engage and the start turn, but it is not engaging the engine.
I will check the bendix to see if it is stuck and measure right.
And other thoughts?
