I have 1997 Baja 240 7.4L carbed, stock with exception of K&N Filter, running a 23P Mirage Plus #48-13704.
Seeing 57.5 on smooth water with a little trim and max RPM is 4500
Seeing 60.5 in the rough (2' chop)and 4600 RPM with a little trim (same as used on the smooth)
Also noticed 2 dings in leading edge of 2 blades on it when I bought the boat 3 weeks ago. Checked it with a magnifying glass and see no fractures.
Also one of the plastic plugs is missing.
Is there anything more that can be done to possibly see the max speed on smooth I am seeing in the rough?

e-mailed them and getting no response. Any other vendors who can help?
I have lurked here for years but just getting involved since my step up, so not sure who else to use.

You'll have better luck calling Bblades. Any Merc dealer (or maybe even West Moron) will have the PVS plugs.
Sounds like you're running pretty good though. Another option would be to have your local prop guy smooth out the dings and keep on boating.

Ok so new numbers after the second tank of fuel. Filled it to same level as when I purchase it and it the rpm's are up considerably. Did not have the GPS with me so no speed readings.
Trim down I am seeing 4900 rpm's and trim up it hits 5000 rpm's.
My question, could the new gas (was stored for an entire season) have made the differance.
