Similar 24x7 hulls to a Pantera?

Hi all, I'm pretty much sold on looking for a 24 foot Pantera in the next year or so and I have a few questions.
How many were rigged as outboards? I've seen pictures of a few, but there don't seem to be too many out there.
I know the 24x7 hull design is often copied, so what are the names of a few other companies who make a similar boat? How do these companies compare as far as build quality, rough water handling, etc?
For example: Company xyz makes a very similar 24x7 boat, but they're slightly lighter, not as good in the rough, and run a little faster. The hull isn't as dry although the cockpit area is larger, but you sacrifice some cabin room.
If anyone wants to take a shot at this type of thing then it would really help my future searches because finding a great 24 foot Pantera may be tough, but if I can snag a very similar boat with a different name on the side then I may go for it.
Thanks a ton!

Excalibur was the first I think, then a slew of them knocked off the exact same hull and deck. P&D, Cougar, Superboat & Martini pre 1980 (1 ft longer), are all the same basic hull and deck lines. They were all 23' 7" by 7. I've spent some time in both the Pantera and the P&D and found the P&D seemed to have a slightly more forward center of gravity, but they all ride fairly similarly. The more aft C of G in the Pantera allows you to set the trim where you want it - whereas the forward C of G limits your options in that department a bit.
There are probably others that stayed at 24' and I can think of many others still that are stretched variants of the same basic hull design. In my opinion the Panteras were/are the best built of the group, hold their value the best and in my opinion look the best with that long forward deck. Put some 380 tabs on one and you'll have a great boat that will take some bigger seas than you might think.

There have been many splashes of this hull. Some good some not so good. I owned one and if I was to do it again with single BB...
#1 Sunsation Aggressor
#2 Pantera 24 sport
#3 Superboat
You also have P&D, Predator, Vector etc... The ones above are the only one's I'd consiter! I prefer 2001 and above. Sunsation is the nicest all around and most plush. Pantera is awesome but not as plush. Superboat is the most stripped down. I have been in all 3 and you can't go wrong...

What I understand after a year or so investigation the "24x7" started with this "Magnum Marine 23" designed by Harry Schoell (on Don Aronows order) for Doc Bob Magoon. (orginaly with o/b's)
24 Adrenaline
24 Aero
24 Carrera
24 Cheetah
24 Cobra
24 Condor
24 Corsa/Martini (25)
24 Excalibur
24 Jaws
24 Monza
24 P&D
24 Pantera
24 Panther
24 Phyton
24 Seabird
24 Scorpion
24 Sunsation
24 Superboat
...and many more......
I'm pretty sure the biggest boat with roots in the 24x7 is 32 Activator (stretched from the 27)
The 24 Cigarette SS and 24 Banana Boat (both 8ft beam) are NOT from the 24x7.
I have only experience from the 24 Pantera, it's the best one and good enough for me
(I have own 4 of them)
Mange
The 23 Magnum (build 1966 what I have found out, now on a shipyard in UK)
24 Adrenaline

chris@uga,
If you hand me a deposit I'll hold a 24 Pantera Sport for you
It's a 1980 I tok on trade for a Pantera 24SE -99.
A very nice boat actually with some good accessories
But maybe Sweden is a long way to have a look at her...

[QUOTE=DareDevil;3127516]LOL, Mange...way better list !!!!!!!! haha[/QUOTE
Wow - that really is one heck of a list. I didn't know there was such a thing as a 23' Magnum, but given the date and specs - that's got to be the start of it all. Thanks for sharing!
