Default APBA PX Class?

I thought that the APBA PX class is a "Run what you Brung" type Class? I thought the "X" in PX stands for "Experimental" I heard this weekend that the PX class has engine restrictions? What's the real scoop. Also, did the GM Vortec SVL class run @ Daytona? I didn't see them run either of the days?

Mike,
Thanks for the reply, I must have missed the SVL's running, who won? There are no results for the SVL Class in OSO Daytona Results thread?
Also, I should have been more specific on the PX motor Q? The motor restriction I'm talking about is that I heard that there are NO TURBINES allowed in PX Class? Just piston based engines.
I guess that's why we don't see any of these turbine based Poker run boats running in PX Class!?

Dean, the PX class was the Barcaradi Silver boat. (last year it was the Bud boat) The SVL ran in the first race Sunday. APBA has High Noon Racing as #1, Vortec/Extreme in #2, and Fury in #3, and Gordo in Solarized didn't get to start Steves Extreme was running good until the end, something must of happened, Fury broke and went out early. The High Noon Racing boat was a plane white boat (I think) that didn't look to be running that well during most of the race. But you never know till the checkered flag comes out.

From the APBA's 2002 Complete Rules

A. In General - EXCEPT as otherwise specifically provided herein the following rules apply to all APBA Offshore registered race boats and competitors.

**2002 APBA Offshore Technical Rules, Sec. II, Part L, Sub-Sect. 3:

"3. Engines - Manufacturers must comply with the Homologation Rules set forth in the individual class rules below. Engines must be based on a nationally advertised marine block sold through normal distribution channels and available to the general public. Engines propelled by gasoline or diesel oil, must be produced with a basic cylinder block and cylinder head (original or manufactured as spare parts) of an automobile or industrial engine otherwise manufactured in more than 1,000 units. Marine engines, of which 30 have been built and homologated by APBA are also eligible for competition. Turbines are not allowed."

BD,
Thanks for researching that for me! Man, I'm such a slacker! You know where this whole thing is going, don't you? Mum's the word!
Nice to meet you and Erin, (SP?), sorry we didn't get hooked up on Sat. or Sunday, BUT I was just Daddy Dean the whole weekend.
Talk to you soon,
MD
