Will the 502zz cam work w/ my 496 manifolds on my 7.4 motor? Would putting the turbulators back in help if that cam is questionable?
NEW ZZ-502 cam. GM Part Number 12366543.
Intake .527 lift- 224 duration. Exhaust .544 lift- 234 duration

I'm running a crane 731 in my 454 with 496 manifolds. After letting it idle at 850 for about 10 minutes, I pulled the risers and had no water in the manifolds(I don't have turbulaters). The gm cam is only on a 110 but may have less overlap than the 731 as it's a bit smaller (I couldn't find any adv. duration numbers for it). The full part number for the crane is 168731 if you want to compare, but I think you'll be ok. Good luck.

I've read in some old posts where 110 & short duration cams work great. Just not sure if this cam is still considered short duration?
I talked to a well respected cam guy here on the boards yesterday & he advised against it. I also have Corsa Q&Q. If I found a similar cam w/ 112 I think I'll go with that for peace of mind.
