Default 23 3blade vs 24 4 blade

What would the diff be If I put a 4 blade 24 on my 257 pq bravo 1 setup. I currently have a 23 3blade. Will it holeshot better but lose top end? I've got approx 450hp 454 & will hit 5000rpm

I am no expert but I went from a 25 3blade to a 24 4blade and was very happy(311formula), I could hardly get on plane in 2foot waves with the 3 blade, 4 blade hooks up everytime no matter the conditions gave me higher cruise speed with less trim tab input required for any conditions, I ended up about 2 mph slower but it was well worth it gave me the same WOT RPM if you go up in pitch I think it will considerably knock off rpm depending on what prop you go to good luck Randy

Go down in pitch if you go to the 4 blade.

Ive got the same boat you do (less power--385 hp) and just switched to a Hydromotive Quad IV 23 pitch and love it (turning 4600 rpm). The quad iv is a perfect prop for the legend--I would think a 24 pitch would be about right for your setup.

the answer to your question depends an awful lot on which 3 and 4 blade prop you're talking about...
