Default drive conversion: OMC to Bravo

Is this pretty doable, or is it a major head ache?

I am looking at a boat hull, and it used to be a 330hp 454 omc, all gone now. So could I drop a 454BBC in it, and a Bravo drive, or maybe even a 502?

Thanks for any input.

I would also consider an outboard if it is easier, and can find one or some to match the power or more than the 330hp 454.

I've done the swap. The OMC Cobra series has the same transom cut out as the Bravo. The Merc drive was a bolt-on. I did have to move the motor mounts. Also, you need to install a Merc style throttle/shift control, the OMC operates backwards of the Merc.

Excellent thanks for the info

I just noticed it had a omc/gimball, so would that still convert right over?

I also converted from an OMC King Cobra to a Bravo I. The bolt pattern is exactly the same for the transom assembly. EZ swap!
