Default Molding steps for dash

Ok, I've had trouble before getting up to the bow... I'm not as young and agile as I used to be so I need some better steps added in.

What I'm thinking about now is cutting the glove box out and starting over from the ground up. I would first use cardboard to mock up the whole construct, then make it out of wood for strength and glass over it. If I don't cut the glovebox out then the steps would go too deep between the seats.

Anyone have cool ideas how to implement this feature?

I don't know how young you are, but it may be worth it to just glass in the whole front flat to the floor, put a step in the glove box, and put a grab handle/aluminum step/something bolt on (and perhaps flip-up to get it out of the way when you don't need it). That would save you from needing any elaborate mold, and probably save a TON of work (and it should look good too!).

Personally I find the best solution is to keep an early 20's girl on board. I generally anchor at the helm, hand her the rope and have her tie it off to the front cleat...

I like the way you think!

I could easily incorporate something like this...

What about steps molded into the cabin door such as a Cig has?

The flip-down steps like you see on the back of firetrucks might work too.
