I tried Avidemux but no luck I keep getting a error trying to load it from my camcorder disc, Its a VOB file maybe thats the problem.

I tried the Movie Maker.
When I try to import it in it does not recognize the video on the disc. It does not even show up when I try to get it to import it.
Im wondering if its the way my cam burned it to disc format.

You probably have it in Quick time, which is an Apple format. I have the same problem.

It will recognize any video format you can throw at it.

Yup, if its a file that ends in .mov, thats Apple, and we know how well apple and MS get along. The few that I have to edit that are in Mov format, I have a converter that changes them to AVI with MM works well with

Finally got Adobe Priemere Pro running. When I try to import it I get a error " The file has a unsupported compression type"

I had the same problem with Windows Movie Maker trying to use a video I recorded on my Flip. It doesnt recognize the video even if I change it to .mpeg
