gotta laugh at insuance companies. requested quotes form 2 different agencies, and they replied to me with quotes from the same company with 2 diff prices. after looking over the quotes w a fine tooth comb i identified why n its no big deal...BUT the liability premium amounts for the same $300k coverage were different. 1 quote had a $2500 dollar higher hull value w a $500 higher deductable and came in lower then the other with a lower hull value and a lower deductable

Bernie,

I don't know which agency I am in the mix but I never did hear from you after I sent your quote but if you'd like, call me. I would like the opportunity to review your quote with you. If you put in a request for a quote with two agencies and requested a different hull value, then the quote will come back different.

The deductibles are all quoted on a percentage of the hull value (3% being the minimum or $1000 which ever is higher). So, if one hull value is higher than the 3% deductible is going to be different. Example, you request $30,000 in coverage on your boat with a 3% deductible which is $900. if you request $25,000 then the 3% deductible lowers to $750. The lower the deductible, the higher the premium.

Couple other factors that can cause a difference is discounts applied. There are three levels of boating courses that you can get discounts for. Also, ownership experience, prior insurance coverage etc. We can only quote based off the application and if you call me we can discuss which were applied to yours and see if there are any other available discounts....

Anyways, if you need the numbers revised on the insured values, let me know and we'll get them changed so they match each other. Thanks Bernie.

Stacy
