I just got an email confirming that Mitch has run out of time to organize Ky Lake Poker Run. I personally understand where he is coming from as I have taken on a new job title and will probably not be able to organize my own poker run locally this year. It is sad when there is no one who will step up behind you and take responsibilty. These events seem to come and die with a person with a dream and no one to continue. From my understanding they had plenty of sponsor money this is truely a time allowance problem. I ahve been asked to switch a sponsorship to the Cincinatti Poker Run which is developed by the guy who started Lake Cumberland PR (from my understanding). Anyone have any input? I am trying to decide if we should wait it out to see if someone picks it up.
Mitch thanks for the fun at the last several KY LAKE runs and good luck with your future journeys. If you have any insights please share with the group.

LOL like I said this was just my understanding not trying to start any rumors. I was told he just didn't have the time to deal with it but I could be wrong. As started above I also am fighting the same battle he is with time allocation to put on my own event which we have been doing for several years. The problem I see is that I ahve 6 people that sit on my board and it has to be me who initiates all major projects. There is no one that wants to step up behind me and take all the responsbility to make sure everything is ready day of. I imagine this is the same battle mitch is having. No one wants to see it go away but no one wants to step up and take responsibility either.

Talked to Mitch a couple of months ago and he said then he was not going to be able to get it together. Not enough help is always a problem.
The Nashville Tn group will miss the event, always a good time when Mitch is in charge.
Thanks to Mitch for the great times on KY Lake.

Thats all we really need. Why not just corrdinate a departure time on a specific Saturday morning from a marina (KY Dam), lunch stop, back to quarry. Maybe just a T-Shirt. Sounds simple, but probably more complicated than what I realize.

I had planned to but wound up with and engine full of water after labor day weekend(new exhaust problems). They called it a "leisurely Poker Run" you left at 9am and went to five or six different stops and just turned in your cards by 6pm. I assume the notified the winner by mail.
