Even ford makes what's called a motorhome build cam. Wakes it right up. And they are such good engines. During that cash for clunkers deal. We had to destroy the units. We had a 460 run with water and the silica sulfate in the oiling system for 2 hours. Granted it had 200k on it and the engine was well balanced and worn in. But it was the longest running one we had. Second was a 1992 chevy work truck with a 350 that onr took over a hour to blow but it started back up the next day and ran for another half hour.

Most of the guys that wanted to keep them Ford parts did the pre 1974 cam also, I had a RHS built 460 in a 79 Bronco with the L&L conversion parts. It was my dailey driver 4 years 600hp built c6 with an Art Car low gear kit so 1&2 were lower than stock 3 was 1to1, 38 inch tires 350 gears I could still beat most Mustangs & Camaro's to 100 then ran out of aero. Got around 14 mpg on the Hwy.

Recently purchased this 84 Ford E-350 Van/Truck to pull my boats. Currently has a 460 with a C6 with 4:10. Very roomy and has a rear seat that folds out to make a bed. Rides extremely smooth with air ride rear suspension. Only problem is mileage, somewhere around 8 mpg at highway sppeds.

Had a '85 F150 with a 305 with about 350k on the engine. It sat for over a year, swapped the battery and checked the fluids and fired right up and drove it to town. The old ford engines are hard to beat.
