I dont know that water well, but everywhere else on the planet it's a night and day diff.

I wouldn't even compare the two boats as to ride quality. I recommend spending the money now to get the 42 or you will potentially be unhappy and stuck either trading and potentially losing some significant $ stepping up to the 42. Good luck!!

I see that is what you have.. what is your mpg at cruise with that beast?

I don't have cruise mpg info. I was told as a general rule for EFI engines, divide the HP by 12-12.5 for gallons per hour at WOT. Carbed engines are not quite as efficient so divide the HP by 11.5-12.

Triple 500 EFI's would be 470x3/12 = 117.5 gph at WOT
Triple 525 EFI's would be 540x3/12 = 135 gph at WOT
Twin 500/525's would be 78/90 gps at WOT

...just asking but would two engines be more efficient, therefore burning less gph?

Find the folks with the 35's and they will tell ya how many times she sent them home!!!

Lake michigan can be 1-2's then 7-14's later in the day!!!
We ran a 38 Scarab all the time on lake Michigan some friends had a 35 Fountian I remember one day on our way back from St. Joe he could not run faster than 40 or they got beat up and we could not run slower than 40 or we got beat up, so 65 mph we left them and talked on the radio!!
Wave span, boat lenth and speed= comfort!

Go Big on that pond !!!

Best mem, was racing Tim ( Riverview ) in his 42 Trip. from Hammond to Navy Pier in 5-7's we both made at the same time he was in the air alot!!!
