Default Sea pump assembly lube?

Hey guys,
Whats the best thing to lube new rubber sea pump impellers with prior to install? Soap?

A ty-wrap to roll the vanes over so it goes in easier. No lube necessary.

I was worried about initial start up, not getting it in the housing. The soap doesn't dry out and stick?

I just looked in Mercruiser manual. They say dish soap.

Some of us use Dawn for flushing the engines after salt water use. I use it for SWP assembly too.

A zip-tie around the veins sinched down a bit works awesome to get the impeller started into the pump. Get it about 1/2 way in and snip the ziptie off. Then rotate the impeller the rest of the way in.

I use Mercury 2-4-C grease, dish soap will work great if you are going to run the boat right away, if it may sit a couple of weeks before running the grease will not dry out.
