Betty was truly one of the greats. Got give alot of credit to any woman that can make such an impact in a typically male dominated sport. I will never forget how well she handled watching her boat fall out of a sling as it was being launched from a marina in jersey(many moons ago) As i recall it was the KAAMA scarab with the booted surface drives. (OUCH!) She took it in stride ,though. All in all a really nice lady, had the chance to talk with her a few times,. (sad to loose another offshore great )

She was a great lady, also not afraid to run the boat! In those days you went racing forget the sea conditions, also very long navigational legs, No GPS, and a real down to earth person who would take the time to talk to you.
