Default Compensating for "Hook" with Prop selection?

Since I just found out my baby has almost 1/2 inch of "hook" in her I was wondering if as suggested elsewhere if a prop with more stern lift would be better for a boat with hook? If so what is a good choice for "stern-lift" Also would this explaing why I run about 400 rpm's less that outher boats with similar setups?

If your boat has a hook it has built in transom lift. In order to make the boat fly you need a prop with bow lift to overcome the built in transom lift. If you remove the hook you may get some porpoising but you get rid of that with tabs. A straight hull will be faster. If you decide to remove the hook do it a little at a time. IF you start to get too much porpoise sand off a little.
