what is the advantage of putting a boat for sale in the classified section ( this site )and not putting a $$$$ amount in which to start ?is it strategy . i keep seeing the same no dollar amount boats for long long periods of time .just a question .

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.......

Isn't that the old saying.... probably why some of the higher end boats in the classifieds have no price............

I dont me personally I tend to skip over things that dont have a price. Because I usually get the vibe that the owner is snobish and wont negoiate.

With that said I dont know I guess some see it as a way to get more people to ask questions, but if not interested in that boat Im not going to inquire anyways. Or maybe the owner doesnt want to push buyers away if his price is to high.

That's just people who dont want to sell a boat.

I am not boat shopping right now, but when i was, I didnt even look twice at the majority of boats without a price posted. Then again, I wasnt looking at $500k boats either.

I think if it's a dealer selling the boat they want to know if you have a trade....no trade cheaper asking price....with trade they give themselves a little room to show more on the trade...

I wonder if they are trying to feel out potential buyers to see how knowledgable they are with the market prices.

Another thing I don't get is people trying to sell boats and only include one grainy, five yr. old pic.

If youre shopping for a certain boat and have made the calls, you can get a pretty close guess on what the asking price is or should be..
