Question drive oil leaking between #5 upper and lower case.

Has anyone ever have drive oil leak between the upper and lower housing on #5 drives...? pulled the boat out of storage and on BOTH drives there is oil that has been seeping between the cases. I know these are sealed with O-rings and probably need replacing but what would have caused this?....

unproper installing and age !

if you replace them, use perfect seal on them ...most of the time they are set dry and then this happens ! NO BIGGY !
