Default Want to buy 26 outlaw or 247 islander

Hi everyone new to the sight but have been viewing post for a while. Just talked my wife into upsizing boats. We have a 202 islander now and have had a lot of fun on it. I want a 26 outlaw and she likes the passanger room of a 247 islander. Pricing would make either of us flexable. We have about a 45- 50k budged. What would be a fair price for either boat for a 2007 or newer with low hours and a 496 motor? The post on getting a survey before buying should be very helpful. Thanks again.

I have a Baja and love it, but based on your post your wife likes the open bow and I assume you like the sporty style of the Outlaw. You should take a look at Sunsation, they make a 288 MCOB (Mid Cabin Open Bow) that would suite both your needs I believe. Only down side is to get a 2007 model you might need more cash but older ones can be had in that price. If your want to stick with the Baja line though you should be able to get either in that price range but there will be more 26 OL to choose from. Good Luck in the search!!

With your budget you might be able to pick up a leftover 08 247. There are still a few around. I believe Admirals Anchor outside of Louisville still has some.

Another option would be the 242 Islander. From crawling around on the 247 and owning a 242. I felt the 242 was a bigger/deeper boat. I know the small cuddy/head was more usable on the 242 vs 247. Two people can sit in the 242 while i don't think i could have fit in the 247s.

The 242 will be slower however. Most 07 and 08 242s are well within your budget.

Not bad for only a few years produced, I think 119 the first year alone. And I would suspect alot fewer 247 Islanders.

Thanks for the insite everyone. I did like the sunsation but not as much as the baja's. Spoke to the guys at admiral who were very nice. They said the 247 and 23 outlaw share the same hull, i found that interesting. there prices were around the 60 range on a leftover 247. I noticed a few baja by fountain 26 and 247s with no warranties floating out there. Are they a better ride? I know they have a different stringer and steering. The price is obviously a little more that 50k. If anyone sees anything available shoot me and email. Hoping to find something in the next 4-6 weeks. thanks all

Local dealer has a 26 left in stock, not sure where they are on price now. Might be worth a call ask for Jared.

Baja did this with several bottoms. 29OL / 302, 33OL / 342.
