Took out my first twin yesterday and noticed the rpms were about 500 off when both sticks were in the same position. It was choppy so I couldn't go above 4k rpms but for the short time I did it seemed they caught up at around 4k . So not sure if the gauges are off ..??
What's the best way to sync the motors? They are Tyler crockett 502 mpi

I do it by sound. A fast oscillation is not in sync. Get that ocsillation as slow and long lasting as possible. Then, the engines are in sync.

X 2. The only thing that sounds any better is trips. I wouldn't be to concerned until you get a little more seat time and go out on a calmer day. Your tabs / trims position along with over all conditions makes a big diff.

When your sinked you get a nice hummmming in your ears especially with some headers.. Be sure a and check your trim and tab position in ref to your gauges from one side to the other also when it's out of the water. Good luck.

I`m anal about stuff like that so I ordered up a RPM meter.. figured for $50 this way I can be sure whats off.

I am guessing that once you get the engines synched if your sticks are not even you can adjust them by manipulating the cable connections at the helm/throttles?

By and install a Snyc gauge you will love it. Like said above when it gauge hits the middle and both engines running the same its a sound you will never forget. Like a smooth running sewing machine

He is as serious as a heart attack. Never used one but have seen them. As stated earlier, it is a sound you will know when they are running in Harmony.

My tach's are not even close. But once that gauge is in the middle you can hear they are both in sync.

Yes, they exist. I've used them on yachts back before the days of automatic synchronizers. It's just a meter that points straight up when the two tach signals are the same.
