So I spent several nights leading up to Memorial Day weekend swapping out fluids, batteries, belts, etc in the old girl (94 Baja Bandit II with the 454 MAG EFI) to ensure a stress free boating adventure at Lake Cumberland and guess what- damn thing breaks down anyway! But I think we've narrowed the problem down to the "high pressure" fuel pump in the VST tank? One of my questions-does anybody have a "gently used" or "not quite new" pump laying around they would like to sell me? My other question, is if I buy a new one, it looks like Mercury has superceeded the VST and pump 3 times-if I were to buy the latest version pump, would I be able to just bolt this thing in my old VST? Hate to sould like a tightwod but I realllllllllllly don't want to pay $1800 for a damn vapor tank! Any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

I have a used one that I would hook you up with. It is off a 95 454MPI that has about 200hrs on it. I took it off when we installed a procharger on an older boat, and been sitting on the shelf since. PM me if you are interested, I will treat you good.

I have one too. It has been sitting for about a year. It was working fine when removed.
