Question Mercury power trim bleed?

I have a 1994 powerquest 257 that a friend and I have been working on. I just rebuilt the trim rams and am just about ready to install them. I actually have two questions for the pros out there. The first is the kind of fluid to use. I have read that dexron 3 will work but then I also read to use 30W. Which is correct? The second question is regarding the bleeding of air out of the system. What is the best procedure to accomplish this? Thanks in advance!!

30 weight oil is what Merc uses.

They should self bleed by running them all the way up and down a few times. You can also crack open the lines at the rams open to bleed out some air.
