Go to your local autoparts store and tell them you have a 94 chevy 1/2 ton 350/5.7 tbi motor and need a replacement distributer, it will be a identical drop-in with same exact plugs and under 100$ new, I have used both and the msd actually corroded and self destructed sooner, Smitty

We are talking a gen v 502 EFI distributer, module just converts the signal so mefi can use it, timing is completely controlled by efi programming. The older thunderbolts had some kind of timing module but efi is different, I had my MSD fail on vacation in N/H, walked into autoparts store and bought a off the shelf 1995 tbi 5.7/350 distributer, works good, Smitty

Yep, you have a distributor that is exactly the same as an automotive/truck distributor. Buy one from an auto parts store.
MSD ignition systems are not good for engines that run below 5500 rpm. They have a really short spark duration above 3000 rpm and will hurt engine performance and foul plugs prematurely.
Stay with the stock non-CD ignition.

I find it hard to believe that a auto distributor would have Coast Guard approval.
I use the DUI performance distributor.
