Default Recommendation for IR temp gun

Anyone really love/hate their Infrared temp gun? I want to get one with a laser but there are lots of brands/options. Want to spend under $100.

Bought mine off of the Mac tool truck. Gave about $100. Has been working fine for 15 years

Home Depot has them from Greenlee and Milawakee. Both in that price range and accurate.

What temp range are you using? For automotive you need to get up pretty high to measure header temps. I've never tried measuring anything on my boat engine with water jacketed headers.

I like this one. Seroiusly. Carry in your pocket and accurate. Goes up to 428 deg.F.

What ever one you deside to buy make sure it has a high temp setting,,most only go to 600*F

That has been changed on the newer Raytechs.they used to go to 600.Now even the mini's go to 932.
