Default regulating water temp????

I'm having problems getting any water temp...I'm running stock Merc cooling with thermastats I think they are 165 degree.If a set of 180's dosent help where do I go from there? can I restrict the water flow? Help!!!

I might guess your stats are stuck open ?

Are you sure you have the stat in the right spot. and facing the right direction. Just a thought.

You should only need a 142deg stat. Mine run at 150deg now that I got rid of the cross overs.

yea I think so.....they are the old style they used in 1993...I have the stat right at the intake......

wiring problem ?sending units need replacing ? gauges ?

hotbeek I thought the same thing but I see some movement in the gauge when I first take the boat off plane...so I mounted some machanical gauges at the motor's and they show the same...too cold!

I'm not sure about 93 but my 85 you have to mount it in the top of the thermostat housing with a brass cup to hold it in.

Go to Bams website and look up the Microfiche on your motor it will show you a diagram.

Where is your temp sender located maybe that in the wrong place

Try boating in water that doesnt have ice cubes in it
Hows the summer going? hope all is well with mamma and kidlet
and yes you can get restricters if its running too cold, but I'd wait till the weather and water gets a little warmer.
