Default Engine Cover With Rear Seat Back Combo

I am building a new engine cover and thought about making the back of the rear bench seat part of the cover like alot of newer boats I think it might be eaiser to work on the engine belts pump alt ect. Is this worth doing?

Make sure the structural integrity isn't given up when doing this -- the firewall offers most boats alot of strength...

Sonics engine Cover and rear seat including seat bottom are all in one......

However, the above statement makes alot of sense too.

thanks for input. Cutting out firewall would probably be a bad thing. My cobra doesn't have one. It does have a strong built bulkhead from the floor down and the rear bench sits on top of it. I was thinking of using 3/4 deckolite ,making and glassing a lower bench to the floor and into the sides. any thoughts or ideas

My 28 ZX has it integrated. The bulkhead is solid below and tied into the main center stringer and the sides of the boat.

Also make sure that if you do it , that your hatch lift is up to the task of the increased weight.
