Default Mercury Racing 1075-Powered 44’ Outerlimits Hits 139 mph

With an owner who really gets it, http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...s-138-mph.html.

Never interviewed a happier boat owner.

Dave has been so excited to get this boat.......he has waited a long time and have enjoyed talking with him and listening to his enthusiasm along the way.

Congrats Davie

He chose the discontinued 1075SCi engines because he felt they were appropriate for the boat and his needs.

“I’m not going to race this boat—I’m going to do poker runs,” Scotto said. “The 1075s are very reliable and my mechanic can fix them without any special tools. Plus, with a pair of 1350s the boat would be out of control, for me. Running almost 140 mph in a 44-footer is just fine."

He could have put the new 1100s in the boat. Turbos are easier on the engine than superchargers and would probly get better fuel mileage too. Why not go new tech just sayin'.

Its been a pleasure dealing with Dave throughout the entire build process of this boat. I dont think I've ever seen someone so excited to take delivery. Thanks for the story Matt.

Back to the point: Doesn't the 725/Indy Ilmor boat run 120? Seems like another $210,000 worth of engines should give more than another 20 mph? No disrepect, it just seems like there should be a bigger difference in speed...
