I dont know about Borla but I went with bullet Gibson clamp on on my blown 540 made it pretty quiet. It is very deep sounding with no lost in power that I could see ...very well made too.

I am running the Borla XR1's on my boat, dry exhaust with Shotguns on the end with solid flappers. They drag in the water at idle.. Water Cops dont bother me. They take the bark out, but I dont know how loud they are from shore. They do stick out a bit, but the swim platform covers them for the most part. I have pics if you want to see the setup I am running.

Wink

I have now referred four or so customers to Aqua Power LTd. products in Florida for their great stainless marine muffler technology and product and everyone of those customers has either e-mailed or called to say how well the mufflers worked and how happy they are with them. I guess these must be a great marine muffler? Seems worth the time to check them out.

Best Regards,
Ray @ Raylar

Thanks for the info.. I saw a good deal on the Borla thats why i was thinking about going with them. I dont have enough surface on my exaust tips right now to use clamp on style mufflers, i only have a 1 1/2. It is a wet system that comes out below the water line and is very quiet at idle. Once you get above 1500 it starts to bark. I tow a tub and skiers around often and it is loud wide open, i was hopeing to quiet it down a bit.So the gibson is good. I will check it out.

I just checked out aqua power. Looks like they build nice mufflers. Thanks for the info i will call them for a price tomorrow. Looks like i have to run a transom mount muffler because most of the clampon mufflers require 3in pipe to clamp to. I would hate to loose a muffler..

My main concern is sound and loss of power. I would love if they make it sound like 40 series flow masters, you can't beat the sound of a big block on flowmasters
