Hydrolic fluid for K-Planes
#4
Cant seem to find the manual for the tabs but for the trim pump it says to use Quicksilver Power Trim and Steering fluid or SAE 10W-30 or SAE 10W-40. It looks like the same oil in the trim and K-Plane pumps in my boat.
I have read somewhere in the literature I recieved with the boat about the K-Plane fluid and I remember it to be regular motor oil 10W-30.
Maybe someone else will know for sure.

You can use almost anything:
10w30
Power Trim & Steering Fluid
Hydraulic oil
ATF
. . . but what ever you use, you should be consistent and not mix different fluids.
The lower viscosity oils, like power trim & steering fluid or hydraulic oil, makes the K-planes or power trim unit move faster than with the higher viscosity oils, like 10W30
When in doubt as to what oil you have in there now, you should pump it out and put in all new oil.
