525 efi

Is there anything different on a 2002 525 efi ecu and a 2006 525 efi ecu?

Also, do all 525s put out soot that winds up on the transom?

My 525 efi runs rich at idle and soots the transom.
If I am wearing a white t-shirt and rub up against the transom the shirt gets dirty...
