This past Sat, I went to Boca Grand (Gasparilla Island) for an Easter egg hunt
with our grandchildren. After the gala event, I drove to the South most end, to
Boca Grande Pass and Lighthouse. I came across this boat, a real nice twin
engine Center Console. According to the park ranger, it arrived about 2:00am,
reportedly with steering problems. When I arrived Sat about 11:00am, a
professional tow company was already on site with two boats.

Looked perfecty fine till rescue boat tried to save it.

looks like he broke off one of the lower units on the motors pulling the boat off the beach

brilliant . . . . . so these "professionals" could not figure to get it pointed in the right direction then make sure all excess water is out first before trying to float it? Also did not make sure both motors were up and out of the way? F'in idiots oh and you can bet that towing bill got jacked huge because they then had to raise the vessel. I would make sure those pics got into the hands of the boats owner

first question, where is the registration number? Are they not required in that state on the bow? Or dealer boat?

Yeah, get those photos out. If nothing else, those two should never salvage another boat bigger than a two person paddle! They could screw up a two car funeral procession!

heck, I would think a lawsuit against them for further damage to a boat. Not sure, but that would really upset me if they did that. Even with a contract, that must be a breach in the contract. The tow companies liability carrier might be interested in seeing that.

This may sound like a rhetorical question now, but was that even a professional salvage crew? No markings on tow boat from what I can see. Could they jsut be opportunistic douchebags with a boat and nylon rope?

Mirroring what another OSO member said about checking excess water in thehull, they should have put some airbags around teh boat until they knew it was stable.
