Well...after a long absence, it appears that the "Blockade Runners" are using Palm Beach and Broward Co as their "Port of Entry" for "Square Grouper" again. Seems that the new wrinkle is to have a "Go Fast" run out 30 miles or so to a freighter and bring a fair sized load in at a normal speed to with in 12~15 miles out...meeting several non suspicious open center console boats at different locations off shore. The smaller boats make a dash to the coast meeting up at pre determined points along the coast with a land based crew. Many times these boats are stolen and are abandoned after they make landfall. If they are suddenly discovered the players cut and run and there is no connection to the vessel.

I guess the theory is that if you break the load up into smaller parts it increases your chances of making it to shore with product. The drugs aren't worth much until they come ashore so there's not much risk to loosing money by dumping a load if your not paying much outside the country.

We won WWII in Europe that way...covered the sky with B-17's and B-25's...superior numbers.
The smugglers have found the weak spot...they know that local LE doesn't have the budget for closely monitoring the coastline as well as all of the ICW and navigable coastal waterways.

Have noticed increased numer of reports of boats found w/contraband aboard. Just read one story this morning about one washing up in the area your writing about.
Latest thing I've been reading about are the semi-sumbmerisable boats they are finding. Just found one in the Caribbean w/30 million $ worth aboard.

Make pot legal fire the ones that pretend they can't catch them&put millions to work! Not 50 shore patrol guys making $29k per year and $200k payoff??The law makers know the deal they just play the stats game
I'd go after the fence jumpers before they become smugglers?
