NE Louisiana poker run on the Ouachita River - 7/14
This is the 2nd Annual TWIN CITIES ROTARY CLUB POKER RUN!!! The event will take place July 14th on the Ouachita River between Sterlington, LA, and Lazarre Point in West Monroe. There will be seven card stops along the river. We will have a host hotel with boat parking convenient to boat ramps and gas stations that are easy to get large boats into.
Monroe is 1 1/2 hours from Shreveport, 4 1/2 from New Orleans, 3 1/2 from Lake Charles, and 1 1/2 from Jackson, MS.
Card hands are $20 each and all entry fees will go to the 100% payout to the highest hand. That means if only 50 hands are sold, there will be a $1000 cash prize! Extra cards are $10 for the first and $5 for the second one.
Card hands will be turned in at Moon Lake Marina, and all hands must be turned in by 6:00 pm. The Carson Thompson Band will be playing and the party will DEFINITELY be going on. For more information, call my office at (318) 362-0057.
Last year was our first year, and we tried to keep it small, because we are new at this. Nevertheless, the event went off without a hitch and everyone had a great time supporting a great cause. I have never seen so many boats at the marina, and this year promises to be even better!

Payout ended up being $1380.00. Not bad for $20 a hand. And the guy that won only bought one hand!
Start making plans for next year. Shooting for $2000 in 2013! Had a great band and a rocking after party. No one had any trouble with water cops, and there were no incidents. It was a great event once again!
