For boats equipped with the snap carpet option - Do you usually keep it in or run without? I usually see people around here in Michigan use it, but when I'm down in southwest Florida it is a rare sight. I was thinking that having it out was just another way of keeping moisture away, etc. Pros/cons, Thoughts?

The only time I put the carpet in is- very early in the season, or very late in the season, When I am not in and out of the water. Basically its nothing but a Pain- I'd leave it out.

When boating, we always have it in the cockpit, that is the reason for having carpet that is untill it look's like rain. For storage we store our boat inside so it is not ever an issue, but if you store outside, the removal only makes sense. Moisture is not your friend, which is kind of funny since we are talking about an item used in water...

I couldn't imagine running without it.

We vacuum ours about every other weekend to keep it looking good. I pull it out a couple times a year to scrub the floor under it and hose it out.

Carpet is a must for us.

Mine doesn't have it but think I'm going to add it. Down here w/all the sand though it will have to come out after every use which will assure that it doesn't rot the floor anyhow.

i have pirelli flooring with snap in on top. always run with carpet. pirelli hurts my feet..I need the cushioning.

Always in. Out for winter storage and acleaning. Much quieter with it in.

We run ours up here in NY the whole season. Just vacuum it once every other week. Its nice on your bare feet. I would guess that in Florida (or any salt water state)...you'd prolly get white "salt stains" on the carpet from wet feet. We get that in ours cars during the winter from road salt. Just guessing.

Carpet is this living rooms.

My cockpit floor is non-skid gelcoat. I dont have carpet but I have a couple of real plush bath type rugs with the rubberized stuff on the back. I move them around as needed.
