I had the speedo pickup ripped off the back of my boat by an unmarked fishing net. It ripped the screws out and messed up the gelcoat. It's a small spot so I thought I would try the repair myself. Any recommendations on product and technique would be appreciated.

How concerned are you with color that far down? You might be able to get away with a white gel paste but will most likely show a bit. Are you re installing the pickup?

Thanks for the tip, I will be reinstalling the pickup so you wouldn't see much of the repair and only when it's on the trailer so an exact color match isn't important. What do you recommend for product?

For gel i think they have small gel paste kits at West Marine that should fill the bill. I like West Systems 404 high density filler if you are going to re set a screw.
