It's pretty funny when......

Hang with Old School, people don't even notice when you fire up after he does

I usually try to warn them. I HAVE to fire up with the silent choice open or I blow the silent choice diverter plates out the back. Little kids love to run down to the dock where I dump the boat in. have had a lot of them jump when they fire. No chokes so I have to pump the throttles a couple of times and then start at quarter throw of the levers. They bark

When I had my old boat when we would go to the Hula hut on Lake Austin, I would tell everyone to look back at the people eating. Hit the starter and watch everyone jump.
With the boat I have now I thought it was not as loud since it has mufflers. It is still loud enough to make people jump.

I startled a woman so bad several years ago that she dumped the stroller that she was pushing, backwards. Fortunately, no injuries; but I felt terrible and always give a yell when newbs are around.

I used to have twin 454mags and backed into a slip all the time. I'd pump the snot out of the throttle so when they start cold early sat am they fired with a VRRROOOOOOOOM! The echo off the dock made them sound like some big stuff.

Smith Mountain lake Run last year. We had the Fountain backed into the slip. I decided to start the motors to put a little heat in them prior to the run. Folks were walking around on the dock, and I assumed most, if not all were boaters since it was a poker run. Apparently their were some that were not boaters, and had just walked down to the dock to see what all the activity was about. I always have an eye on the oil pressure gauge when I start them so my back was to the dock. My friend that was riding with me told me that a woman almost jumped off the dock, then covered her ears, and ran back off the dock cussing the whole way.
If you were standing directly behind the boat when it fired and werent expecting it, those 700's would get your attention.

At the LOTO Shootout last year, we were hanging out near the Skater V while Eddie Young and his crew were working on it getting ready for another run. I was standing behind the boat and saw that he was about to fire it up, so I motioned to my niece's boyfriend, Daniel, to come over. Eddie fired it up and Daniel about **** himself. lol I think it took a while for his nerves to get back to normal.
