I have finally finished the rebuild of my 1987 Maelstrom Cat.Everything runs perfect.I now need help with props.It is 32' with a 10'beam.Weighs 8K.It is a true cat with no center sponson.I run Kaama outdrives with 8% overdrive and the trannys are twin disc 502 at 1.54 to 1.Engines are all forged aluminum head small blocks at 425 hp each.I went out yesterday and tried a speedmaster 15.5x23 3 blade and blew them out and could not get on plane.Then switched to 16x26 four blade Kaama props and could not turn any RPM.It is obvious the power band starts at about 2500 rpm.What props does anybody suggest.I can't afford to keep shelling out 1500 dollars for props until I find the right ones.I do not mind spending the money once they work.Help!
