Default Looking for lower half

Gents and Ladies,

I am looking for the best place to purchase the lower half
of a Bravo 1. It has 1.65 R gears and a low water pickup.

I would like to get it ordered and shipped Monday. Would like
to see it at the house on Wednesday. Do I have a chance at this?

I don't think I can have another skeg (spelling) welded on. Am going to keep the damaged unit as a backup.

HELP!!!!!

and thanks.

Mack312, a complete new drive is not much more than a lower only. We have the latest version in stock for $3800, could ship via Delta (airport pickup) for less than $100, you would have it by Tuesday

Joe, number is 954 321 0606. The new units all have the dual water pickup. We have a couple of the older style available, but the new one is so much stronger I would hate to see you go that route. Give me a call if you want.

Default Broken Eliminator

hey Marc, I am in the same boat (Ha Ha) not to funny really!
I cracked my lower 1:36 starboard housing and broke my prop shaft today. Need some help! Either I need to get it welded? or new housing? or welded and replace prop shaft and prop, or maybe a new lower, but mine has a "leading Edge" nose cone installed by eliminator. Any help would be appreciated
All this by Wed so I can play on the 4th
Thanks
Robert

Robert,

I don't think welding is a great idea, depends on where the crack is. Also, you should strip and Zyglo the rest of the unit looking for more cracks. You could change to the XR style prop shaft, but that puts more strain on the upper.

Sorry for the problems you guys are having, but boy, I can tell tommorrow is going to be busy!

I may just call you tomorrow. I have friends that lives close by and works as a engineer for Mercury. He's going to look at it tomorrow. How many dollars to just upgrade to XR drives, and will they just bolt on with out any problems.
Thanks
Robert

Robert, XR's are $6500 each. You also need to change the gimbal bearing, the sleeve that holds the belows in and add 2 little spacers to each trim cylinders. It is about $60 in parts, a couple of ours work.
