So, I want to know, what is everyone using for removing water spots from a day at the lake, yet not taking the wax off with it? My local lake seems to harder water than most other lakes I've been too. If you don't wipe it down constantly all day, they are very hard to get off without polishing or a spot remover, which seems kind of harsh to me. I bought some of the "Driven" products to try and so far have only been able to try the Quick Detailer concentrate. Which works well but doesn't completely remove spots that have been on all day. I tried it on a new Malibu Wake Setter this weekend. I imagine the key is to get a good polished surface first and then keep it maintained. Just some trial and error right now, to see which combo of products works best.

I boat on the colorado river system(lake Mead)and they do not make harder water.I have tried everything and the best so far is Performance Boat Candy it works.I talked to the owner at Desert Storm and they now have made a deal with UPS and he tells me they will ship for just 5$ per order. It takes off the spots and leaves some wax on also.

CLR works well on the stainless tips to remove the blackening that occurs....when i recently bought a boat the outdrive was WHITE from all the build-up....CLR wouldnt touch it, so i was told to try Lisol Toilet bowl cleaner in the blue bottle - WOW!!!!!!!!!!! it was basically wipe on - wipe off to a new black finish! sure there were some spots that required a little more effort but nothing i've found so far has matched this stuff. not sure i would recommend it for the boat itself but for cleaning nasty outdrives i wont waste my time with anything else.

I use this stuff

It takes the hard water spots off without taking the wax. Vinegar and water works great for taking off the hard water but takes the wax with it.
