Default Ed, 38' Transom Angle?

Ed, Do you remember the transon angle on the 38's? I think it is 10 degrees? Looking to install standoff boxes and want to make sure the transon will accommodate it, Thanks, Robbie

BTW, How ya been?

Hey Robbie...Just stay'n busy, or I'd got nutz, lol. Did you find out the angle you needed? I believe it was 13 degree's, but check it with an angle finder, that you can buy cheap enough at Sears Tool Dept. Blue skies...

Ed, Thank You for getting back with me. Great to hear you are staying busy!!!! Stay out of trouble!!! I have used a cheap angle finder, I come out at 10 degrees, looking at putting boxes on the back, was told the 38' did not have a standard angle transom. News to me!!!! I also need several EAO switches, you still know where I can get them? I plan on getting down your way soon, Lunch? I will give you a call let you know, Blue Skies, Robbie

Place a carpenter's square with the long side ( 22 1/2" ) against the keel. When the short side ( 14" ) comes in contact with the transom, take the measurement ( see the sketch below ) between the inside corner of the square and the boat bottom. Each 1/4" is equal to 1 degree in slope of the transom.

No problem, I also forget how to do it every time and have to look it up, this method was originally taught to me by the guy that made my outboard bracket, and I have used it for several since then.
