Default oil cooler and oil thermostat ?

I had an oil cooler failure and am going to replace it with a new one but
my question is I am running about 650 hp and had a stock mercruiser oil cooler / power steering cooler
and also running no water thermostat and had no oil temp
So i was thinking do i need the Highperformance Oil cooler and run a oil thermostat or run the stock replacement with the thermostat
Any One have an Idea

at 650 im guessing you will need a larger cooler . plus regulated oil temps are always a good thing sir ...good luck
