Have any of you measured the sound level difference between being on the stand and in the boat. I measured my engine today with is using gils dry to the tip and on the stand at 10 feet I'm at 100 db. The engines are going in a formula with a silent thunder exhaust and I know that will cut a bit of sound... I'm just trying to decide if I want to use mufflers or not.

If you can't get that db at 10 ft from the boat down to about 78 to 85 db, it's gonna be one loud (obnoxius to others) boat and will probably get you noise tickets if you are boating in controlled areas as well as make most conversation underway in the boat very difficult. "Noise does not make power , just a lot of not so nice looks from others who must listen to it"
