I have an aluminum trailer with the 2 large bunks at the back and then there are 2 rollers at the front, holding a 38 ft fountain. I would like to add some bunks to the front as well as the back to make it easer to load the boat( it's very difficult lining it up with the front rollers, I always have to have someone spotting and guiding me on them.). What size lumber should I use and does anyone have any pictures of there trailers with what I am looking for for bunks or if anyone has any other suggestion to make loading easer. Sorry for the long post. Thanks Eric

I have guide poles on my CAT trailer and i don't give a crap what anyone thinks about it! Since the wie and I float the boat off and on and need to go pretty deep to do so the guides work out great for us and we can unload in a minute flat and load in about 2 minutes once the lane on the ramp is clear. Takes longer to load since I have to get out of the truck to hook up the safety chain and winch cable so the boat doesn't slide off the wet bunks. Maybe some smaller side guide bunks to get you centered?

It's kinda funny, but I started measuring to do the same thing 3 weeks ago so I was really glad to see this thread. My trailer is set-up the same as Wes's except for the front bunks which is what I'm wanting to add. My trailer is a Loadmaster and I have to add a short crossmember to support the front of the forward bunk. Loadmaster has them and brackets on there webpage so you might check with them for parts. Wes's pic shows exactly what I'm going for on my 27' fever. Good luck and thanks for the thread!
