Trailer repainting. How much $$$$$$
#1
I have a 2000 Heritage triple axle trailer that will need to be repainted soon. It is white and rust is taking over in some spots. It will need some sandblasting. I will remove the bunks and replace them. How much $$$$ am I looking at ??? It is about 42 ft long. And it is going to get painted black.
Added- It is a steel trailer. Has rusty spots but I would guess blasting whole thing would be bets.

I can remember back in 06 when i redid my trailer i had a guy sand blast the trailer that was like $500.00 and then i brought it into the shop an painted it my self and i think i had a few hundred in sealer and paint. Granted prices of paint have damn near doubled since then.

theres a place we use around here that gets around a thousand for blasting a trailer about that size. Beyond that i would guess another 2-2.5K to shoot in a good single stage like Concept.

What is the name of the place?
I used to go to some guy out on SR 579 just west of where it meets SR 2, went by the name 'Seagate Sandblasting'. Had him do some truck axles and parts for me and he was pretty reasonable. Not sure if he is still doing it or not, the barn he did it in looked like a beach there was so much sand on the floor.

Many have options for media, on site or off site. Seldom do blasters (industrial size) not also paint.
No longer in business, but there was a bridge company near Baltimore who did a nice job at a reasonable rate. Not suggesting you take it to Baltimore, just another type of asset to investigate. They did nothing but blast, clean and paint. Make sure you know who is responsible for doing what or you might have black lights, black chrome wheels and raised white letter tires, painted black!.
My understanding is the EPA has become very strict about spent media and contaminates so look forward to delivering the trailer to a facility.
Another avenue is "industrial services" such as MPW or Rolan Plant Services.
Strictly a personal preference the media I like is corn or soda.

I agree with most of what he said, but would add...
Generally it does not cost that much more to have it all blasted rather then here and there, unless there are just one or two spots. You also end with a better looking job.
If your trailer is painted galvanized (not likely), then there is much more to the conversation.
It the paint is good other than the rusted areas, then there is more to the conversation.
If the trailer is made of square tubing rather then channel it is a good idea to coat the inside of the tubes. And no, it is not that hard to get accomplished.
A friend often rebuilds trailers for boats he has restored. He swears by RustOleum style paints and he has the time, materials, equipment and facilities to use anything. And customers who would pay for it too!
