Default 98 twinstep 28zx, imco shorty?

I have a 98 twin step 28zx with a 700hp 555ci it has a imco stern advantage stern jack on it with a 28p bravo and it runs 5100rpm. I think with the sternjack I'm getting to much drag on the drive and its getting too much water, what do you guys think, would a imco shorty help me?

I don't think anyone has been in your exact situation running the stern jack... There are a couple guys that had 26/28 with big power. I think the guy with the 28 had a shorty on his without the jack so one would imagine that it would work well. I think his handle is Bryan Rose here, Last Real Texan on Donzi.net.

Sick stinger has a 98 zx with the shorty, runs pretty well, no planing or blow out issues and prop slip is pretty low

The 27zx loves one. When they changed the name to a 28zx, they changed a few things so they may have raised the x. You may want to verify that. My 26 zx did not need or want a shorty

I'll step up to the plate here. I have a -2 Imco that I am not using. I don't know where you are located, but I would be willing to let you try it out and if it works out and you would like to buy it, I am sure we could come to terms.

I would have to have around 3K for it. it has Imco internals and about 3-4 hrs test time on it since new. I also have the cavitation plate if you need it.
