We all have performance boats with little room so curious what everyone tries to cram on board for spare parts. I have tool kit, oil, and lower unit gear lube as of now. Looking to get some spare belts for my 500 merc blue power carb motors. If anyone can point me in the right direction. Thank you.

The belts can be had at any parts store, just take the old one in with you.

Now some of the following should be on board and some should be left at the truck but here is everything I can think of that I have broken over the years:

Power Steering Fluid
Trim Pump/Trim Tab Fluid
Diaphragm for fuel pressure regulator(maybe just on SCI's)
Drive (I used to have bravo's)
Water line hoses
Clamps (all sizes you might need)
Fuel Pump wouldn't hurt
IMPELLERS
Water Pump Housing
Volt Meter
Electrical connector kit
any fuses on the boat
spare keys
Extra hitch and ball for your truck
bulbs for trailer
tail lights for trailer
floor jack would be great for changing a tire
four way for changin tire

If I think of anything else that I have either broke myself or had someone I am boating with break that can actually be fixed in a parking lot I'll add to the list but this is pretty exhaustive... Yes we look like a bunch of gypsies going to a poker run!

Belts can be found at the parts store. The standard v belts i get at my local hardware store, i get a same size mowing deck belt, they are alittle tougher then the parts store belts

Best item I have ever kept is hose repair tape. It has gotten me home more than once in trucks and boats. I have even forgotten and gone out with the tape on again.

I only bring the basics,tools,tape fluids so I can do quick repairs but I only have a 45 minute drive to the lake and a long season so if I break and come in we are out the next weekend.In places where you drive far and have a short season I would pile on the stuff listed above including sea pumps,belts and fuel pump so you can maybee salvage a trip when you only have a short season.I start the season in April at Desert Storm and run till october or november so we get in alot of trips.

Multiple forms of ID; passport, drivers license, permission slip from wife...

Debit/credit card and checque book, along with cash...

Insurance card as well as tow insurance card, no matter red or yellow...
