Im looking at a 2001 29 scarab with low hour, like 150, 350's, bravo drives, k-planes, hydraulic steering, basically all the bells and wistles they came with on a steel trailer. I feel that I offered a fair price, but the broker thinks I am way off as I think they are. Just wanted to get everyones opinions on what they think it would be worth.

A real clean low hours one might command 40K. But in this case NADA sounds close honestly.

In this economy I would say about 30K unless its showroom new and even then it is still heading into 12 model years old, Smitty

$25-30K. Its a narrow boat for its size and slow with not much opportunity for upgrades with stock small blocks. If it was a better designed boat with true 29ft hull it would be $39K, but its not. Its so narrow hard to lounge on it. Really a 27.5ft hull. Has stock small blocks so hard to get it to go faster. Has a horrible bilge vent system. I see one sink every year due to water thru the bilge vents. That is why my values are where they are. Can do much better for $35-40K. Just sold my 28 Apache so have a real world knowledge of what these size boats go for......what their pluses and minuses are. Thought about buying a 29 scarab myself so I've done lots of research on them.

Take your time and do your research. Learn about the boats out in the market and make the decision based on what works best for YOU.

Don't let other momos sway you one way or another. However, take each bit of input and make your own informed decision.

A good friend has a 29 Scarab with twin 350s. His is a 1996 and it shows like it just rolled off the showroom floor. Anyone who has seen this boat would agree about it's condition. His features everything you mentioned above plus electric bolsters. While the beam is narrow compared to others, the boat rides great!

Some boaters out there want a powerboat but don't demand 100mph+ boats. Some people rather have reliability at a price that works with their budget. That said, 35k is the right ballpark and if you ever have the chance to run in one you wont be disappointed!

I love the step and pad on my Sunny but there is something to be said about the ride of a deep V. Just my .02
